Literacy and Numeracy

One of our key priorities as a School Division is to develop literacy and numeracy skills in our students. These skills are essential both to academic achievement and to future employment for our students. A strong understanding of numeracy and literacy forms a foundation on which students can pursue their future goals.

At Lakeshore, we pride ourselves on knowing where each and every student is at on their learning journey and what their next steps need to be. Throughout the year, we track each student’s progress and adapt instruction to meet their unique learning needs. Whether it is using hands-on manipulatives in math class or making real-world connections in ELA, we are there to support our students.
